About me

Yogesh Dixit

Certified Lowcarb Nutritionist

Transformational years 2005-2006

Till my early 30s I used to be super lean. However, being in the IT occupation made me gain weight for the first time.

Around 2005, I had a short stint in the US, away from my family and was planning to make better use of available time. Coincidentally I got my hands on a Marathi book called “Maza Sakshatkari Hrudayrog” by Dr. Abhay Bang.

This proved to be a turning point, making me an avid health & fitness enthusiast, till today.

Then, within 6+ months, I lost 15 kgs & attained the best shape / fitness levels which I continued to be in even now.

An evolving enriching journey from 2006 onwards

Enthusiastically I started following prevailing nutrition guidance by leading experts – One such advice I started practicing was to consume multiple small meals (instead of 2-3 meals) in a day.

This I believe made me diabetic & I was put on T2D (Type 2 Diabetes) medicine. I was annoyed at myself as after following the expert advice, eating home-made, supposedly healthy food & exercising daily for years, led me to this condition.

However, I wanted to remit T2D & thus started my own research. I tried & made multiple course-corrections over the next few years, but without much success.

Finally, I got myself trained in Sports Nutrition as well as Exercise Science. Over here I learnt Lowcarb and Ketogenic nutritional approach.

I started experimenting and soon aced the lowcarb lifestyle, which helped me finally remit my T2D, getting a nod from my diabetologist to stop the entry-level T2D medicine I was put on.

Being passionate about spreading awareness about lowcarb and to help people attain better metabolic health,
I took a plunge from the IT profession & started my online Lifestyle Coaching venture: eatRightMonk.

Over the last few years I trained a few hundred individuals, couples and families, which brought about an amazing transformation & happiness in their lives!

Health or fitness does not come packaged in a pill

Many amongst us, are obsessed about attaining a specific external look (regarding weight, inches, skin tone etc.) – which is not entirely wrong.

However, the focus ideally should be possessing the best Metabolic health, which not only helps in correcting external factors, but helps in keeping many ailments, disorders away. The only way to achieve the same is by embracing optimized nutrition, and physical activities as a lifestyle.

Through eatRightMonk program, I help the trainees by tweaking Lowcarb framework to suit their goals, likings & profession, to make it a sustainable lifestyle.

Exercise can not outrun a bad diet

Exercise can assist you in improving muscle strength, endurance & attaining overall fitness. However it's not a primary tool on your fatloss journey. Moreover you do not need too many different types of workouts to achieve fatloss.

Consuming incorrect foods and mindless foods with mindless exercising is a reason your going thru a yo-yo cycle when it comes to fatloss.

Nutrition, Exercise & Sleep / Recovery are tripods of attaining better health, and nutrition is the key contributing leg of that tripod.
